What has life stolen from you? What is that situation that has robbed you of your joy, peace, self-esteem and your dignity? What are the unresolved conflicts that you are faced with right now, that seems beyond solution? I want you to know that our God is called the “Restorer of Life.” He is the one that makes all things new. When life takes, God restores. He can turn your mess into a message and bring order out of the chaos. And He says in Joel 2:25, I will restore all the years that the locust has eaten.” The word ”restore” means to restitute, to pay back, to make amends, to bring back to an original position. However, when God restores, He doesn’t just bring back that which it is lost, it comes back to us in an improved, multiplied and increased state.
Brethren, life touches all. Sometimes we suffer loss, not because of what we have done, but there is the enemy of our soul, that will attempts to steal and rob us of all we hold dear. There was a time David was in the camp of the Philistines and the Amalekites came and carried away everything David had. The bible says David wept till he could weep no more. The devil is the hater of God’s children and he loves to see us bent over and bowed down. But the bible says when men are bowed down, for us there shall be a lifting up. David encouraged himself in the Lord and he recovered all.
It is time to come out of self-pity and begin to encourage yourself in the Lord and take back all that the devil has stolen from you. The sons of the prophet dropped an iron axe head into the bed of a river. They cried out to the prophet of God and the iron axe head floated. We all know that it’s contrary to the laws of gravity for iron to float. The God that made iron float, that raised Lazarus up from the dead after four days, is still the same God that you serve. And He is still in the business of restoration. Brethren, the days of miracles are not over. You must believe that God is able to restore, no matter what you have lost. Faith is necessary to receive restoration.
It is also important to let go and forget the former things. Taking journeys into the past and living in self-blame and regret will not do it. God says “I am doing a new thing, can you not see it?” God loves new beginnings and He will give you one in Jesus name.
At other times we suffer loss before we walk away from the light of God’s presence and leave the place of peace, love, joy and protection. When the prodigal son left his father and went indulged in riotous living, he lost all, however his father never gave up on him. When he returned, whilst still afar off, the father saw him, had compassion on him and restored him. Today no matter how far you’ve drawn away from God, when you return to Him, He will forgive and will restore. And maybe you’ve never surrendered your life to Christ. I want you to know that God is not against you, but is on your side. The reason Jesus came, was to restore fallen humanity into a loving relationship with God. And right now, He is reaching out to you to surrender your life to Him, and He will begin a work of restoration in your life. Just read out this simple prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die for my sins. I repent of all my sins and I ask Jesus, that you come into my life today and be my Lord and Master. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
